is the world wide   umbrella association of qualified au pair agencies, organisations and companies.

The Universal  Au Pair Association's  main aim is to protect the rights of all au pairs and host families and at the same time maintain a code of ethics and conduct for au pair exchange programmes as well as assist all agencies including those that are new to the industry; to provide the very best possible service to the industry.

Presently there are 243 members in 31 countries around the world and this number grows regularly. All members of the Universal Au Pair Association subscribe to a set of rules and ethical code
The aims and objectives of the Universal  Au Pair Association are
pointer_red.gif (829 bytes) To protect the interest of au pairs and host families through adhherence by member agencies to UAPA's internationally accepted codes of conduct

pointer_red.gif (829 bytes) To provide an independent body to which au pairs and host families may apply for information and address their concerns, where required to offer mediation.
pointer_red.gif (829 bytes) To secure mutual understanding and cooperation between all members of the Association in any way which may be found practicable including conferences, seminars, exchange of literature and information
pointer_red.gif (829 bytes) To lobby governments to treat au pair programmes as cultural exchange programmes so au pairs and their receiving host families are not subject to employment taxation
