representing British au pair Louise Woodward are set to launch a new probe into how baby
Matthew Eappen died after being in her care. This follows comments from two doctors who cast doubt on the prosecution of Woodward. Dr Floyd Gilles, a neuropathologist, and Dr Marvin Nelson, a radiologist, said on television they believe eight-month-old Matthew was strangled and not shaken and slammed by Woodward as prosecutors charged. "The truth needs to be pursued," attorney Andrew Good said at a Boston news conference. "For our side, including Louise, the pain is worth enduring." The defence is to launch a scientific investigation to find the exact cause of death. |
